Since they can’t fly, they are always there.smallmouth bass bait  (Sorry, couldn’t resist.) Getting them to bite, that is entirely another question.  I have had my best luck with a junebug finesse worm, Texas rigged with a 1/8 weight, worked real slow.  Still working on the presentation with a jig and pig, which has brought a lot of big fish to boats of tournament anglers. — Go fishing. And may your fish be as big as your tales!    smallmouth bass baitany fish out in winter i mean bass?

Hi, I don’t primarily fish for bass in the winter however, usually every ice fishing season, smallmouth bass bait I manage to catch a couple while jigging for bluegills.  The bass have taken a tiny teardrop jig tipped with a waxworm or mousie. They are out there and can be caught, some people also get bass while tipup fishing for northern pike and walleye.  I heard last night while talking to another guide up near Chequomegaon Bay that a kid fishing a tipup (for northern pike, using a large sucker for bait) caught a 27 inch smallmouth bass, measured it  and released it.smallmouth bass bait  It really doesn’t surprise me that a smallmouth this big could be caught in this area, I’ve seen smallies like that cruising the shallows during the spawning season. —    http://www.newsfeeds.com       The Largest Usenet Servers in the World!

Sunday at West Point in middle Georgia on the Alabama line, I caught a 4-2 and a 2-13 in a club tournament, and placed second to a fisherman with a 4-11 and another 16 inch keeper for a total of 7-7.smallmouth bass bait  There were 10 bass weighed in – five 16 inch largemouth, and five spots – limit 12 inches.smallmouth bass bait   Not bad for a cold, windy, rainy day with air temps in the 30’s and water at 49. Yes bass are out in the winter. Ronnie http://fishing.about.com
