A friend and I are planning a fishing trip to Tennessee the second week in June.  Does anybody have any suggestions on where to go or what lakes.  We want to get a cabin on the water. jet bass fishing boat
We may try two different lakes for the week. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

Let me put in my plug for the Nashville area.  Old Hickory Lake is a very underrated Bass Fishery.  In the 9 years I’ve fished it, I can count the number of times I’ve been skunked on my fingers.jet bass fishing boat
My first trip out lasted only about 2 hours and I had 3 nice Bass.  There are plenty of free launch sites on the lake and accommodations can be had at many nearby motels in the area.  BASS is holding their super tourney on this lake later this year. For a change of pace, Percy Priest lake is only a very short distance (less than 45 minutes) away and offers good Smallmouth and Rockfish (Striped Bass) fishing. Since you are planning to bring the wives, Nashville will offer them the opportunity to do some sightseeing, shopping and nightlife.  Go to the Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood or Nascar Cafe or any of the other tourist eateries around town.jet bass fishing boat
Opryland is closed now but you can see where they are building the new Bass Pro Shops on the park’s old sight (Gaylord, owners of Opryland, are majority stockholders in Bass Pro Shops). The second week in June is a little late for the best fishing, but should still provide you with plenty of fun fishing. Wherever you choose to visit in Tennessee, jet bass fishing boat
I wish you good fishing and an enjoyable stay.

Always glad to have visitors.  You first must figger out where in TN you plan to visit.  Tenneessee is like three different places in one state. East, Middle, or West?  Great fishing in all of TN, but it realy makes a difference.  Do you want mountain rainbows?  Or LARGE bucket mouth black bass?  Mabe a lake without a limit on crappies?  You tell me.

I live here in Knoxville, and I would recomend Cherokee lake, and or even Watts Bar lake. I don’t know of accomodations in that area or anything that is close, you might find something if you ask the TWRA (game warden) in the area, or maybe a local bait shop. There is a nice one at Cherokee Damn. Well, thast is about all I nkow for recomendations. Good fishing, and have fun.

There is a list of marinas and resorts for Watts Bar and Cherokee at http://members.aol.com/swaters1/index.html

I have a directory of marinas and resorts for Tennessee lakes on my site that may help you locate a suitable place to stay. I would suggest the Kentucky lake and Barkley Lake areas if you want to fish two different lakes. They are both good lakes for fishing and are close together. If you put in on the north end, you can go from one lake to the other without taking your boat out of the water. http://members.aol.com/swaters1/index.html
