Best to use bass aluminum boat on Houghton Lake, MI

Question:

Greets all.bass aluminum boat What is a bait to use on Houghton Lake, MI? Spinners, Jigs, etc. Time frame is going to be around last week in July. Last year we used mainly crawlers and did pretty well, but want to get a little more serious on bringing in the hogs. Thanks all. doogman    http://www.newsfeed.com

On alt.binaries.pictures.fishing is a map. bass aluminum boat(Houghton.gif) The Southeastern corner of the lake near Spring Brook Creek, Denton Creek, and one just northeast of Spring Brook.   Lock on the 6-foot breakline and follow it around the whole area fishing the mouths of the creek channels with 1/2-ounce spinnerbaits (white/chartreuse willow blades) and tubes. While following the 6-foot breakline, at one point you are going to be pushed out into the lake.  Where the breakline starts cutting straight again (between Denton and Spring Brook) out in the middle of the lake is a rock ledge that drops into 20-feet of water.  That whole slope can be quite good fishing. Dragging 3-1/2″ Tubes (Colors are only suggestions – dark melon/copper flake, green/gold flake, smoke/blue & silver flake) on 8-pound test will score you some hawgs. bass aluminum boat  Put the boat right on the 20-foot breakline and either let the wind drift you up into the shallows or Zig-Zag over the breaklines from shallow to deep and back.  Another killer lure is the 4-1/2″ suspending jerkbait (perch, blue/chrome, black/white),  Cast out and reel it down, then jerk, pause, jerk, jerk pause, jerk, twitch, twitch, pause. So three lures: Tubes, Spinnerbaits, and Jerkbaits Craig Baugher -

THANKS! Yeah, bass aluminum boat South side is where I had the most action last year. But I would start about 1/4 mile out from the ramp marker on the map and drift to the southeast end. Typically would hit 3-4 schools along the way, mostly bluegills and perch. My 8 (well 9 as of today) year son caught a nice one 1/4 mile off the southend. Seems thats where we caught most of the bass last year. That was with crawlers though. This year we are on the north side so I will have to “commute” to the southend I guess…any luck on the north side?
