Question:

Hello all, Newbie here.lures used for bass  Can anyone provide any information, or tips for this lake, which is located in Peace Valley Park. How about a good Bait & Tackle Shop in the area? I will be fishing for Bass, unless there are other suggestions. It’s 365 acres, with a dam on the west end, and shallows in the east end. I was able to purchase a topo map, and those depths (up to 60′) are making this here Jersey boy nervous.lures used for bass I’m only used to 16 feet! Thanks.

Response:

I’ve never had much luck in there. lures used for bass There doesn’t appear to be much in the way of any structure in the lake. I would be as interested as you to hear any insight on this lake. I can tell you however, that a neighbor of mine has a mount of an 8 pounder in his den of a LM he pulled out of Lake Galena last year. Too bad nobody else will have a crack at this beauty, as his vanity got the best of him. Kevin – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hello all, Newbie here. Response:

Actually, the headwaters of that lake provides some of the best bass fishing around.  Problem is, or at least used to be, that the upper 1/4 mile or so of the lake is roped off & designated as a nature preserve, no fishing allowed.  When I was a kid I used to sneak in there at night & catch rediculous numbers of bass & catfish, some quite large.  The old bridge & surrounding riprap were loaded with biguns.  Needless to say, I no longer fish where I’m not supposed to.
